The Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) participated in the 2026 National Accreditation Conference, held September 28–30, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, sharing its expertise on how accreditation and standards can strengthen emergency management programs.
EMAP Executive Director Nicole Ishmael Livingston participated in a panel discussion on the evolving role of accreditation and was honored with a Founder’s Member Appreciation Award.
EMAP Training Coordinator Todd Livingston also presented two sessions focused on using standards to strengthen emergency management programs. His presentations, “Managing Change Through Standards” and “Capability, Capacity, Collaboration and Credentialing: The Ingredients for a Resilient Emergency Management Program Through Standards Compliance,” explored how standards can help programs identify gaps, strengthen emergency management systems, build capability and capacity, foster collaboration, and turn standards compliance into measurable operational capability.
The conference gave EMAP an opportunity to connect with fellow accreditation professionals and share perspectives on how standards can support stronger, more effective emergency management programs. ASMI is proud to support our clients, like EMAP, and its continued work to advance emergency management through accreditation, standards, and continuous improvement.
