Barbara Arango, CAE, MBA
Client Services Director
Barbara leads client services teams as a senior executive. She is responsible for onboarding new clients, including assembly of the staff service team and ensuring a successful and complete transition. She has served in the association management industry for the past 11 years and is passionate about building community, delivering value, and fostering growth for diverse and dynamic organizations. As a subject expert, Barbara delivers strategic planning, nonprofit governance, and related expertise as needed to ASMI clients. Past roles include executive director of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association and executive director for various medical specialty clients at WJ Weiser & Associates, Inc., an Association Management Company. Her strengths lie in the development and leadership of associations and the implementation of strategic goals and objectives. Barbara also contributed to the association community through her leadership in launching The Association Marketplace, a platform to connect association professionals with consultants and industry partners. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a CAE certification from the American Society of Association Executives. Barbara joined ASMI in 2024.
