ASMI Issues Message of Support to Those Impacted by 2019 Novel Coronavirus Health Emergency

On behalf of ASMI, we would like to extend our deepest concern and support for our members, friends, colleagues and customers impacted by the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019- nCoV) health emergency.

Trade shows and conferences are instrumental to building brands, forging partnerships, providing education, and so much more. When a crisis such as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) occurs, the effects are felt by all of us in the industry.

ASMI continues to monitor the developments of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and its impact on exhibitions and events. We are gathering information as this crisis evolves in order to understand the extent of its impact and how we may be of service. We are also gathering resources as they become available to us, in an effort to help navigate the difficulties presented by these circumstances.

At this point, we cannot forecast whether there will be any disruption at all to our 2020 events. Should it become necessary, we will work with host facilities and our leadership to mitigate the impact on our clients. While we have event cancellation insurance in place for clients hosting major gatherings, pandemics are excluded. Currently, we are reviewing our facility contracts and expectations about audience ability to travel.

ASMI extends its best wishes and continued support as our industry endures this crisis together.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth B. Armstrong, MAM, CAE
